G & V Logistics: a website to reflect a logistics brand and its services.

G & V Logistics is an Australian logistics, transportation, supply chain and storage company based in Victoria and operating across the country. Its website needed to show the true scale of the business behind it.

The challenge

What needed to change.

G & V Logistics provides logistics, transportation, supply chain and storage services. From its base in Victoria, the business extends its operations throughout Australia, with a modern facility and a fleet to match.

The company was enjoying success, but its brand had not kept pace. Brand awareness was limited, and the website did not reflect the real size of the operation, the range of services or the capacity of the fleet. A business of this scale was being read online as something much smaller.

The team saw the need to enhance the brand and enlisted us to create a website that reflected the true scale of the business. This was to be a complete redesign and rebuild, built to show the wider scope of the operation and its fleet capacity, and to capture a larger slice of the potential customer base.

The realisation that limited brand awareness was holding the business back gave us the opportunity to make a real and lasting difference by making the most of every asset the company already had.

Approach

How the work took shape.

The website had to work as a calling card, so a strategic look at what it needed to say came before any design. The central decision was about perception: the redesign had to make clear that G & V Logistics was not a small backyard enterprise, and it had to do that through evidence, by illustrating the full range of services on offer.

We also decided the website should speak to two audiences at once, potential clients and prospective employees, because a logistics business grows on both.

A concise and engaging layout was chosen to attract more attention and to build trust in the quality the business is dedicated to bringing to each client. Rather than burying the services in long pages, each one was given room to be understood quickly.

Stronger, clearer branding ran through the whole design, so that the scale visible in the facility and the fleet was also visible on screen. Every page had a job to do in telling that larger story.

The shift

The business was bigger than its website admitted, and the redesign simply told the truth about it.
